How to hide your wordpress template name from others

WordPress, is a very  simple and easiest CMS to work with. Almost every single developer knows how to work in wordpress. The flexibility structure of this CMS made it Best Content Management System 2017.

Now a days you can get plenty of free ready made template design from its own theme directory or you can get more premium designs from third party companies like Themeforest, Templatemonster etc.

But the point is that you don’t want your competitor to know which template are you using.

So what is the great way to do that without using any plugins.

Do the following steps:

Step 1: Upload your wordpress template

Login to your wordpress admin panel.

Then, navigate Appearance → Themes and upload your theme.

Don’t active your uploaded theme.

Step 2: Rename your template file name

After that login to your cPanel File Manager or you can access your site using FTP.

Navigate to  public-html → wp-content → themes.

Here you can get your uploaded template folder. Right-click it, and choose Rename to rename the folder with your desired name.

Step 3: Activate your template

After that navigate to Appearance → Themes and activate that particular template.

Now your website template name is hidden from others.

You can check it just navigating to your site. Then right-click and select View page source or press Ctrl+U.

Press Ctrl+F  and type wp-content.

You will get your renamed folder name after wp-content.

In this way you can hide your wordpress template name without using any plugins.
